Louise Loughman Artist

Bespoke Silk Scarves
Based in Swallow Studios and set against the backdrop of boglands and drumlins in the quiet surrounds of rural county Monaghan.
Inspired by the beauty of the surrounding landscape and a love of Celtic mythology, resident artist Louise Loughman runs her small studio alongside fellow artist and hand weaver Liz Christy.
Louise creates a beautiful range of silk products using a combination of hand painting and batik art. Each individual piece is lovingly handcrafted and culminates in a bespoke collection of wall hangings, framed art, art cards and her renowned colourful hand painted silk scarves and shawls.
Passionate about her craft, Louise runs silk painting workshops where she imparts her knowledge and experience to those who would like to embrace their creative side.
Workshops are run in a relaxed and fun environment under the expert guidance of Louise.
The onsite craft shop is brimming with fabulous handmade gifts lovingly created by Louise, Liz and a selection of local artisanal craftspeople.
