The Monaghan Boot company opened for business on No 7 Dublin street in 1930 by JP McKenna, who was involved in the Show factory at Mullan Mills. Macartan’s father, Gussie Kearns, came to work here in 1935 and later bought out the business. Macartan is one of Monaghan’s long standing stalwarts giving loyal and dedicated customer service to his customers for more than 50 years!

They carry many of the premium footwear brands with an emphasis on comfort and excellent fit. Rieker, Ecco, Dubarry CallagHan, Marco Tozzi and many more.

In recent times Macartan has also introduced quality light, but very warm and waterproof outerwear.
